The word Animism derives from the Latin root Anima, meaning breath, spirit, and life. Animism is a belief system that attributes a spiritual essence or consciousness to all living and non-living things. This includes animals, plants, rocks, rivers, weather systems, and even human-made objects. Animism is often considered one of the earliest forms of spirituality and is deeply rooted in the idea that the natural world is imbued with spirits and sacredness. Here, we honour the essence of these meanings, guiding you towards a profound connection with your inner wisdom on your Wellness and Spiritual Journey.

​At Earth in Sky, we recognize the deep impact that colonization and capitalism have had on our collective connection to the old ways... to land, spirit, and the unseen. Like many, I was raised in a culture of disconnection. I am not an expert, but a learner that is doing my part to help reweave lost threads of relationship, listening for ancestral echoes, and finding ways to bring animism back into everyday life. This is not a place of answers or authority, but of remembering together. Earth in Sky exists as am invitation for those who feel the grief of separation and want to begin again. I’m here not to lead, but to remind.
