TENDING THE SPACE

Earth in Sky is held as a space of relationship. We understand care as something we practise together: care for ourselves, care for one another, care for the space, and care for the living world we are part of.

These are some of the ways we tend that relationship:

• Your boundaries are sacred.
  You are the keeper of your own body, experience and participation. Every invitation can be accepted, adapted, paused or declined without explanation. Consent is ongoing, and you are always allowed to change your mind.
   

• There are many ways to be present.
  Speaking, listening, moving, making, resting, observing, taking space and stepping away are all valid ways of participating. You do not need to perform your participation for it to count.
   

• Your story belongs to you.
  Sharing is always a choice. You decide what parts of your personal, therapeutic or spiritual experience you want to bring into the circle and what you wish to keep for yourself.
   

• Different worlds meet here.
  Each person arrives carrying their own history, culture, body, nervous system, identity, beliefs and ways of knowing. We ask that these differences be met with curiosity, dignity and respect rather than an expectation of sameness.
   

• Mystery does not require certainty.
  Earth in Sky makes room for spirit, animism, intuition and experiences that may not fit neatly into ordinary language. You are not required to believe any particular thing. Wonder, questioning, uncertainty and different interpretations are welcome here.
   

• What is offered in trust is held with care.
  Personal stories and vulnerable experiences shared within gatherings are not ours to carry into other spaces without permission. We ask everyone to honour the privacy and dignity of what others entrust to the group.
   

• We tend the habitat together.
  The rooms, objects, plants, materials and beings of Earth in Sky are part of the experience we share. We invite you to move through the space with care and leave it tended for whoever arrives after you.
   

• Accessibility is a relationship, not an afterthought.
  Bodies, nervous systems and capacities are different. We welcome conversations about mobility, sensory needs, communication, participation and other accommodations that may help you feel supported. We will listen, collaborate where possible and be transparent about what we can reasonably provide.
   

• Exchange should honour different capacities.
  Financial accessibility is part of community care. Whenever possible, Earth in Sky offers Supported rates, sliding scales, low-cost gatherings and other forms of accessible exchange, while also honouring the labour and resources required to sustain the space.
   

• Care requires boundaries.
  A caring space is not a boundaryless space. Discrimination, harassment, threatening behaviour and repeated disregard for another person's boundaries are not compatible with the community we are tending. If something happens that leaves you feeling unsafe or concerned, we invite you to reach out for support.
   

• Care moves in more than one direction.
  Facilitators hold responsibility for creating thoughtful, ethical containers. Participants are asked to care for their own limits, respect the boundaries of others and contribute to the wellbeing of the gathering. No one person is responsible for carrying the whole circle.
   

• The relationship is alive.
  Earth in Sky will continue to learn from the people and beings who encounter it. Questions, respectful feedback, repair and conversations about how we can care for this place and one another more thoughtfully are welcome.
  
  
  Earth in Sky is a place to practise relationship: with ourselves, one another, the places that hold us, and the strange and sacred living world we already belong to.
